After Hazare, Congress Too Lambasts The Government Over The Land Acquisition Ordinance; Planning a Protest From Wednesday

The Land Acquisition OrdinanceSenior Congress Leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has said today that the Land Acquisition Ordinance passed by the BJP-led government at the center is completely against the farmers of the country.

"This is not only a movement of Anna Hazare but everyone is angry. We [Congress] brought the Act [Land Acquisition] for the betterment of the farmers of this country that too with the support of the BJP," he told the media.  Aiyar further said that the common man of the country knows that how has he been robbed of his rights.

The diplomat-turned-politician said that Congress would take out a protest on Wednesday to register their opposition to the ordinance.

In another development in the national capital, social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has begun his dharna protest at the Jantar Mantar against the amendments in the Land Acquisition Bill.

When asked by the media about the protest, Hazare said that the BJP duped the country with its slogan of 'achche din' and came to power to do good to the corporate world. He also mentioned that there is a need to create awareness among the citizens of the country as there are a number of people who are unaware of the changes that the BJP has made to the original Bill.

Anna Movement Part-II, This Time Against The 'New' Land Acquisition Bill

Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will sit on a protest at the Jantar Mantar from today against the ordinance on the Land Acquisition Bill.

A group of farmers started a march on Friday from Palval, Haryana and will reach Jantar Mantar today to join the movement of Anna Hazare and try to pressurize the government to take back the amendments made to the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Earlier, Hazare lambasted the BJP government for passing such an ordinance that was against the farmers and enabled the government to take land from the farmers without their consent.

When Anna sat on a dharna protest last time two years ago at the same venue, the central government had to run for cover and was badly shaken. The entire nation came in support of Hazare. People from various regions of the country came out on the roads to show support to the movement. Leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi are considered the by-products of the movement.

AAP Has The Potential To Shake The Modi Government: Anna Hazare

Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare is of the opinion that the Aam Admi Party has the potential to shake the Modi government.

Anna HazareOne of BJP's political ads is the topic of discussion these days. The ad depicts AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal in marital knot with the Congress party, and in the background Anna's picture is shown with a garland over it. When Anna was asked to comment on the mentioned ad, he said he would not like to comment as he has not seen the ad yet. After he was shown the cartoon, he burst into laughter.

When the media asked him to respond to Kejriwal's statement that the BJP has 'murdered' Anna, he again laughed out loudly.

Hazare refused to comment on the coming Delhi elections. He said that he will only comment on the topic when the results are out.

Anna said that he has lost all faith in the Modi government. He further said that not just he but the people of India have also grown disenchanted with the Modi government.

Anna vowed that a movement for a strong Janlokpal Bill and an impartial Land Acquisition Act will be kick-started in Delhi soon. He said, "During the election Modi promised that he will weed out corruption from the system, and bring the black money home; but, there is corruption everywhere, and nothing has been done towards bringing the black money back. And to make the things worse, the BJP government has changed the Land Acquisition Act in favor of the rich."

On being asked about the movement he said that everything will be scheduled after a meeting within the organization. But, one thing is certain that the movement will have none of the old members of the previous movement.

Anna Hazare Threatens A Movement Against The Modi Government

Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has blamed the BJP and the Modi government of not fulfilling the promise that they made during their run-up to the last year's General Elections.

"It is clear that PM Modi is not serious about fighting corruption. In eight months, the government has not given any priority to corruption and there has been no progress on the Lokpal law. We are gathering people for a movement," the septuagenarian told the media.

When asked about forming a team with new faces he preferred to keep mum on Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal, who were the two most prominent faces of the erstwhile 'Team Anna'. The Team Anna was the principal figure in the India Against Corruption movement in the year 2011.

Anna Hazare Movement

"Ekla Chalo Re," he quoted Tagore. "I don't need Kiran Bedi or Arvind Kejriwal. I have the public with me. Why should I be upset at not having a team?" he said. The veteran public-leader has conspicuously distanced himself from both Ms Bedi and Mr Kejriwal, who have managed to emerge as two political faces of Delhi.

"Let Delhi decide whether to choose Kiran or Arvind. Why drag me into the muck?" Anna Hazare said.

Sources say that Kiran Bedi's joining the BJP has seriously aggrieved Hazare, and he has reportedly refused to even take her calls.

"Any Indian citizen can contest elections. The Constitution does not say that a person has to subscribe to any party or view. It is because of party politics that the country has suffered," said Hazare with a tone of sadness.

Polls will be held in Delhi on 7 February and the result will be out on 10 February

Kiran Bedi, Jaya Prada May Soon Join BJP, Decision On Shazia Ilmi Pending

If media sources are to be trusted, former police officer and social worker Kiran Bedi is expected to join the BJP today. However, the induction of actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada hasn't yet been finalized.

The rumor market is abuzz with the speculation of BJP fielding Kiran or Jaya, a former SP MP, against the AAP supremo Arvind Karriwal from the New Delhi constituency in the coming assembly elections.

Kiran Bedi, Jaya Prada May Soon Join BJP

Though, the former AAP member Shazia Ilmi has denied the rumors of her joining the BJP, and contesting the elections against her former boss. It should be noted that the journalist-turned-politician might not have joined the BJP but has shared platforms with the party leaders and is expected to canvass for the party.
Meanwhile, Jaya Prada says that she has been in contact with the BJP think tank for some time and now is ready to join the party. Ms Bedi has not opened her cards yet. She tweeted:
Kiran Beadi the first Indian female IPS officer and a prominent member of the erstwhile team Anna, showed her political inclinations towards BJP when Modi announced his arrival at the national level with a thumping majority. It needs to be emphasized that Kejriwal was also a team Anna member, but preferred to part ways with Anna over the issue of launching a political party to which Anna was sternly averse.
