The President of Congress Party Sonia Gandhi has congratulated UK Prime Minister David Cameron on his unexpected victory in the general elections.
She has wished the country well and hoped that UK will attain new dimensions under the leadership of Cameron.

Earlier today, PM Modi also congratulated his British counterpart on his grand victory.
Cameron is set to return to 10 Downing Street after the Labour Party leader Ed Miliband conceded defeat in the wake of the Conservative Party securing a concrete majority at the 7 May polls. Cameron's Conservative Party has defied all the pre-election forecasts.
Acknowledging the mandate Cameron said he want to "govern on the basis of governing for everyone in our United Kingdom".

Cameron expressed his desire to go ahead with a referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union and to complete the Conservatives' economic plan.
