The Shiv Sena has said that the
process of bringing the black money home has just begun, and the Modi
government is on its track to fulfil the promise to do the same.
"The process towards
bringing back black money has started and this is the first step towards
fulfilling the promise made by the Prime Minister," Shiv Sena leaderSanjay Raut told the media.
The black money bill, which was
passed in the lower chamber of the parliament Lok Sabha, has a provision for
penalty and tax up to 120% along with criminal prosecution for the offenders.
It also provides for a rigorous imprisonment of up to 10 for those who have
stashed black money abroad.
Union Finance Minister ArunJaitley moved the bill on the floor of Lok Sabha. He urged the opposition to
not to develop 'cold feet' in supporting the bill, and rejected the
opposition's demand of sending the bill to the Standing Committee.
The FM was of the opinion that
any delay now on enacting the legislation would give the offenders a chance to
move their black wealth to unknown territories.
