The Bombay High Court has today
suspended actor Salman Khan's five years jail sentence in the infamous 2002
hit-and-run case.
With this ruling, the Bollywood
superstar will not have to go to jail. However, he will have to visit the
Sessions court where he will have to fill fresh bail bond because his two-day
interim bail expires today.
Further details are yet to come
to light.
Two days back, Mumbai Sessions
Court found Khan guilty of culpable homicide and gave him a five-year jail
term. However, the High Court granted him interim bail for two days on the same
day.
On 28 September 2002 at around
four in the night, his car allegedly collided into a bakery and ran over a few
people sleeping on the footpath, killing one and injuring four others.
