Goodwill Between India and Mongolia Significant for Asia-Pacific: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi is on a one day tour of Mongolia. He has said today that the goodwill between India and Mongolia can help in the advancement of peace, stability and prosperity in Asia and the Pacific Region.

"The real strength of our relationship lies in the goodwill between our people and in the faith that unites us across the distances. It is a power that can do more than just draw our two countries closer. It can help advance peace, stability and prosperity in Asia and the Pacific Region," said Prime Minister Modi in his address to the Mongolian Parliament at the State Great Khural.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the agreements relating to border security and cyber security signed between New Delhi and Ulaanbaatar (the capital of Mongolia).

"Our security cooperation is growing. We can learn a great deal from each other. No one can doubt the well-known skills of Mongols! We are proud to conduct defence exercises together. And, I am pleased that we have signed agreements today to cooperate more closely on border security and cyber security. We have also agreed that India will help establish a cyber security centre in Mongolia's defence and security establishment," he added.

India and Mongolia signed 14 agreenments to strengthen bilateral ties. Earlier, PM Modi termed his visit to the landlocked Mongolia as a significant milestone.

PM Modi who arrived in Mongolia yesterday night is the first Indian PM to tour Mongolia, which is a very stratigicallyimportant country as it is bordered by Russia to the north and China to the south.

The PM also announced a $ 1 billion credit line to the country.
