An Air India spokesman said that security agencies like the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) are also looking into the issue.

It was in the year 1999 that India witnessed a hijack of Indian Airlines flight IC 814. After hovering around here and there, that flight was taken to Kandahar, Afghanistan. The terrorists asked for the release of three terrorists in return of the passengers. India has to give in to the demands of the terrorists, and Maulana Masood Azhar, along with two other terror agents, was released.
