New King Salman bin Abdulaziz |
In the last few years, his poor
health has raised questions about the future leadership of the country that is
the foremost oil exporter of the world. His half-brother Salman, 79, was made
the crown prince in 2012 after the death of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz. Prince
Salman was representing the ailing King in all the events for some time.
In the year 2014 King Abdullah
made another half-brother Prince Moqren - the youngest son of the founder of
Saudi Arabia, King Abdul Aziz al-Saud - the second Crown Prince in order to
keep the succession pipeline clear.
