MiG-27 Crashes In Barmer, Part Of It Falls On a Biker

A MiG-27 of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer today, and a part of it fell on a bike rider. The rider suffered few minor injuries and a broken hand, but his bike was entirely charred.

The name of the bike rider who got injured in the incident is Loon Singh. He was going to a village to distribute marriage invitation when the MiG-27 crashed around 3PM.

The Indian Air Force says that the pilot was able to press the eject button in time near a village 4KM from Barmer. The crashed jet was on a routine outing from Jodhpur air base to Uttarlai. The IAF has ordered a court case for the incident.

It should be noted that the MiG has a dark crash history. The Soviet-era fighter jet is around 40 years old, and apart from India, the MiG is used only by Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan. Russia has stopped using it long ago.
