The controversial film MSG: The
Messenger with Dera Sachcha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in lead role is
releasing today. The security has been tightened in and out of the theatres
which are screening the movie.
Orders have been given to
maintain the law and order all across Haryana state where the Sikh organizations
are against the release of the movie. "The film is given certificate by
the censor board and it is a subject of the central government ...we are ensuring
strict security to prevent any untoward incident," Ram Vilas Sharma, a
minister in the Khattar cabinet said.
The state government has deployed
police and paramilitary forces across the state to deal with any kind of
tension arising from the release of the film. Two additional companies of
reserve police force have been deployed at Sirsa where the Dera is
headquartered.
"We have imposed Section
144, installed CCTV cameras at the entry and exit points of the Cineplex...
security forces are on the alert and we are maintaining vigil," said Sirsa
DSPJagdish Kajla.
The Punjab government had to ban
the release of the film last month following the threats from Sikh organizations.
After the censor board refused to give it a go last month, the film was given a
release certificate last week with a new name and suggested cuts.
The name of the movie has been
changed from MSG: The Messenger of God to MSG: The messenger.
