PM Modi Congratulates Shinzo Abe On Being Re-elected As The PM Of Japan

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has congratulated his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on being re-elected for the top spot for the third time. Modi has said that he looks forward to continue to work closely with him to further strengthen the bilateral ties.

"Congratulations @AbeShinzo on your victory in the elections. Japan will scale newer heights of progress under your able leadership," Modi tweeted.

Abe's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its partner Komeito Party have won the the elections with two third majority in the 475-member lower house of the parliament.

"I look forward to continuing to work closely with @AbeShinzo to strengthen the relations between India & Japan," he said in another tweet.


Modi and Abe share a close personal relationship, which was showcased in Modi's recent tour to Japan. Both the leaders are said to have similar personalities.
